Entrance to Columbus Colony Elderly Care

A virtual tour of the facility.

Front Lobby

There always seems to be activity in the front lobby as guests are greeted.

Front Desk

At the front desk you will receive a warm welcome from Christine, Ashley, Kristen, Jessica, or Elwood. There is usually plenty of activity around the front desk as this is the first stop for questions. For safety each guest is asked to register at the front desk.

Activities

One of the first areas is the activities room equipped with many supplies for residents who want to develop their skills in arts and crafts.

Dining Hall

There is an impressive dining hall that seats approximately 70 residents at a time with a variety of seating arrangements up to four at a table. Meals are staggered for maximum resident comfort and most efficient servings. Menus are prepared well in advance and posted for the residents. Dietary keeps residents smiling with great food, and lots of it.

Atmosphere in Dining Room

The dining room has recently been painted with murals on three walls to give that feeling of dining in an old outdoor cafe in the Piazza della Rotunda. The streets scenes are filled with activity, picket fences, and realistic trees.

Rooms Built for Communications

The architecture of each room is designed for optimum communications. Walls are constructed for the purpose of arranging rooms so that residents can communicate more freely using ASL. Beds are positioned to face each other for effective visual contact.

Residents often decorate to their own tastes and are free to provide wall hangings that brighten the atmosphere.

Courtyard

There is a beautiful landscape in the courtyard that is maintained year round. The serene setting is surrounded by the facility for easy access and resident security.

Courtyard Atrium

The courtyard has shade and a relaxing atmosphere that is inviting to residents and visiting family. The atrium is the site for many CCEC activities when the weather permits.

Plenty of Space and Views

There are many views in the atrium. Some present a time for reflection while other areas are available for family gatherings.

Gardeners Prepare and Plant

A great amount of planning and work goes into the courtyard to maintain its beauty. A master gardener oversees that the proper mood is created through the arrangement of plants and flowers.

Beauty and Barber Shop

We like to keep the men and the women looking great at a reasonable price.
