Honoring Columbus Colony Elderly Care During National Helen Keller Awareness Week

On behalf of the members of the Senate of the 124th General Assembly of Ohio, we are pleased to extend special recognition to Columbus Colony Elderly Care on the occasion of National Helen Keller Awareness Week, June 23-29, 2002.

Since its establishment in 1896, Columbus Colony Elderly Care has assisted individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, and both deaf and blind in reaching the height of their potential, and its record of service has been truly exemplary. During this year's National Helen Keller Awareness Week, the center will host its second annual Helen Keller Hoover Dam Walk, as well as a "Celebration of Helen Keller's Life" party, and the many individuals who have been involved with these noteworthy events are to be commended for their tremendous efforts to help others.

It is through the work of facilities such as Columbus Colony Elderly Care that Ohio has gained a reputation as a state whose residents are always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need. The center has made many significant contributions to the State of Ohio, and the fine reputation that it has gained is a credit to the dedicated and

professional administrators, staff members, and employees who have given willingly of their time, abilities, and enthusiasm in the interest of the public welfare. They are, indeed, deserving of the highest praise.

Thus, with great pleasure, we pay tribute to Columbus Colony Elderly Care during 2002 National Helen Keller Awareness Week and extend best wishes for ongoing success.
