tricks. The residents have fun

Deaf Awareness Day - Residents visit the
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for a day of relaxation and
exploration. On this day there were many
demonstrations by zoo employees with ASL interpreters. >More |

Fall festival celebrates
its 25th year with many activities and events. There
is much to do for the children and adults alike.
Sponsored by the Ohio School for the Deaf Alumni
Association, there were events, booths, moon bouncers,
Columbus Zoo exotic animals, and much more. >More |

The employees received recognition for years of
service. Brenda Day was announced as the employee of
the year award recipient. Sally Rogers was selected as
the employee of the month for the month of September.

A celebration for employees at Wyandot Lake. Families
enjoy many activities at the water park, with pictures
of children, water events, arcades, and picnics. Wait,

there and a series of the barrel dump at Christopher's

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium brought their
animals to CCEC. There are sugar gliders
(pictured at left), parrots, pythons, armadillos, and
hedgehogs. Residents show their expressions as Zoo
representatives Sue and Pat let residents pet the

June 23-29, 2002
A weeklong celebration of the life of Helen Keller is
documented with pictures of a birthday party for Helen
Keller, a party after the birthday party, and a walk
on Hoover Dam near Westerville, OH to bring awareness
to issues of the Deaf / Blind. >More |

The co-authors of the book Walking Free: The
Nellie Zimmerman Story were at CCEC to talk about her
life. Nellie was a resident of Columbus Colony from
1980 until her death in 1994.
Long-time friend Emily Street Hensel accompanied the
co-authors for a day of inspirational stories. >More |

Employees "broke a leg" for the residents with
performances of poetry, song, dance, viola concerto,
and baton twirling. The evening
was dedicated to former activities director Melissa
