Want a Pen
Pal? Pick a card, attach a greeting, and we will see
to it that a resident receives your message. You may not
always receive a reply but your messages will always bring
some joy to a resident. Start with a greeting card, then
follow with Email messages. Need assistance getting started,
feel free to send us a request for help.
We invite
class or civic organization projects
We will make special consideration for school projects.
Teachers or group leaders looking for a project that is fun,
rewarding, and educational, will find that our staff is
willing to help with suggestions for your group. Invite your
class or organization to start with a greeting card over the
Internet.
-
For
every card that is sent, a resident will receive a
greeting.
-
Residents
here at CCEC enjoy messages and likely will
respond through a staff member or reply directly
through eMail.
-
Residents
have access to the Internet and are encouraged to
respond in person. We are also willing to train
residents through adult educational classes. Don't
be discouraged if you do not receive a reply, you
still have made a difference in the life of a
resident here at CCEC. Your messages will be
cherished.
-
As
an introduction, we recommend a light
message telling a little about yourself through a greeting
card. Longer messages can then be sent to
the resident through the eMail
process for residents.
-
Many
residents are Deaf, or Deaf/Blind. We have
full-time ASL interpreters and TTY phone
capabilities which assist in communications.
-
We
reserve the right to edit all remarks made in a message. However, most
messages are prepared as is.
For large groups
please send us an email
request or call V/TTY: (614) 891-5055 so we can adequately prepare for the
volume.
